AYA
Aguirre y Aranzabal
Spain's premier shotgun manufacturer since 1915, producing handmade sidelock and boxlock doubles that rival English best guns at a fraction of the price.
History
AYA was founded in 1915 when Miguel Aguirre and Nicolas Aranzabal journeyed to Barcelona, Spain, to apprentice under German gunmaker Eduardo Schilling, eventually founding Aguirre y Aranzabal. The company was established in Eibar, nestled in Spain's Basque Country, a region renowned for centuries-old arms-making heritage. Despite being Basque farmers taking a huge gamble, history favored AYA, leaving them as the last powerhouse in handmade Spanish shotguns. By the 1950s, AYA had become one of the world's leading makers of side-by-side shotguns, particularly popular in the UK and USA. Since 1945, AYA has produced more than 600,000 shotguns. Today, Alex Aranzabal of the fourth generation continues the family legacy, producing shotguns that satisfy discriminating shooters accustomed to best English firearms at one-fifth the price.
