History

Founded in 1945 by Roy Weatherby in South Gate, California, Weatherby originally focused on high-velocity rifles and became famous for Weatherby Magnum cartridges. The company expanded into shotguns in 1967 with the Regency over/under. The first Orion was built to Weatherby specifications by SKB in Japan from 1982 till 2007, establishing Weatherby's reputation for quality shotguns at accessible prices. Fausti briefly built the Orion in Italy from 2007 to 2011. In 2016, ATA in Turkey began building the current Orion for Weatherby. The SA-08 semi-automatic was manufactured by ATA Arms in Turkey. The Element inertia-operated semi-auto competes with higher-priced Italian imports at a fraction of the cost. Weatherby offers exceptional five-year warranties and is known for bringing quality shotguns to market at competitive prices.
