History

The first Orion was built by SKB in Japan from 1982 to 2007, then briefly by Fausti in Italy from 2007 to 2011. Since 2016, ATA in Turkey has manufactured the current Orion for Weatherby. The Orion features a traditional boxlock design, forged steel receiver, chrome-lined bores, and Grade A walnut stock. Available in Field (Orion I), Matte Blue, Sporting, and Side-by-Side configurations. The Sporting model includes a four-way adjustable comb, 30" ported barrels, and fiber optic bead. Despite pricing under $1,100, the Orion is Beretta 686-inspired and delivers reliability suitable for trap, hunting, or clays. Weatherby's five-year limited warranty provides peace of mind.
