History
Founded in 1919 by Oscar Frederick Mossberg and his sons in New Haven, Connecticut, Mossberg is America's oldest family-owned firearms manufacturer. The company gained fame with affordable, reliable firearms for hunters and sportsmen. The Mossberg 500 (introduced 1960) became one of the most-produced shotguns of all time with over 11 million made. The military-spec 590A1 is the only shotgun to pass the U.S. Army's MIL-S-3443G test.
