History
Introduced in 1947, the Model 700 Series was Webley & Scott's post-WWII workhorse that replaced Standard and Special models from 1946. Over 30,000 produced between 1947-1979. Featured Webley screw-grip third-bite system (1884 Webley & Brain patent) alongside Purdey bolt. Formed backbone of Webley & Scott sporting shotgun range for most of 20th century. Available in 12, 16, 20, and .410 gauge. Side-by-side boxlock configuration. Represented reliable and affordable British quality for general hunting, sporting clays, and working hunters. Shotgun production began 1845, ceased 1978, revived 2016.
