Harrington & Richardson Topper
Classic American single-shot break-action shotgun that introduced millions of shooters to the sport.
History
The Topper name first appeared in the 1940s and became H&R's most recognizable shotgun line. The Topper 158, manufactured from 1962-1981, became the shotgun most hunters associate with the H&R name. Available in 12, 16, 20 gauge and .410 bore with barrel lengths from 28 to 36 inches, the Topper featured color case-hardened actions and hardwood stocks. Original retail was $28.50 in 1957 and $36.95 in 1971, making it one of the most affordable shotguns available.
