Lefever Arms Nitro Special
Entry-level Lefever manufactured by Ithaca after acquisition - most common surviving model.
History
Introduced in 1921 under Ithaca ownership as entry-level Lefever model. Featured plain black walnut stock with basic checkering, double triggers, shell extractors (no ejectors), low rib, color case hardened receiver, and single brass bead sight. Represented affordable quality for working hunters. Most common surviving Lefever model due to extended production through 1947. Available in 12, 16, 20, and .410 gauge (410 added 1926). Lefever Arms Company merged with Ithaca in 1916, with Ithaca continuing the Lefever brand until 1921, then introducing the Nitro Special which ran until 1947.
