FN Herstal TPS
Tactical Police Shotgun based on Winchester 1300 design for law enforcement and military use.
History
Introduced in 1995, the TPS (Tactical Police Shotgun) was based on the Winchester Model 1300 design with ported 18" barrel. Featured MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail, AR-15-style adjustable or fixed stock, pistol grip, ghost-ring or M16A2-style sights, and 7+1 capacity. Designed specifically for law enforcement and military use during the era when pump shotguns dominated tactical roles. Production ceased in 2012 as the market shifted toward semi-automatic preferences, but the TPS served police and military forces worldwide for nearly two decades.
