Merkel Model 2000
Reengineered 200 series renamed in 1995 as homage to the outgoing millennium, featuring calibre-adapted receivers.
History
The triumphal procession of Merkel over-and-under guns started with the 200 series in the 1920s. This series was reengineered in 1995 and renamed the 2000 series as homage to the outgoing millennium. Each caliber has its own dimensioned steel receiver for perfect optical harmony. The series uses a Suhl modification of the Anson & Deeley boxlock from 1875 with compression spring ejectors. Models include 2000E, 2001E, 2002E, with the flagship 2003C featuring special Merkel sidelocks.
