Anyone else feel like they plateau at station 8 on sporting clays?

Been shooting for about 2 years now, mostly sporting clays. I'm pretty consistent on most stations but station 8 at my local club always kills me. It's that long crosser from the high tower, maybe 40 yards out. I'm shooting a Beretta A400 Xcel with an improved cylinder choke, usually 1-1/8 oz of #8 shot at 1200 fps. Just can't seem to connect consistently.

Oh man, station 8 is a classic plateau spot! That long crosser messes with your timing. Try switching to a light modified choke - it'll give you a tighter pattern at that distance without being too restrictive. Also, focus on leading that bird by about 4-5 feet instead of trying to swing through it. What's your foot position like on that station? Sometimes just opening up your stance a bit can help with the follow-through.
