Anyone else feel like their pattern gets a little 'blown out' with high-velocity 1-1/8 oz loads in a full choke?
Been shooting a Browning Citori 725 with a full choke in the bottom barrel for trap. Using Federal Top Gun 1-1/8 oz #8 at 1300 fps. At 40 yards, the breaks seem a little less decisive than with my standard velocity loads. Wondering if the extra speed is just opening things up too much at distance.

You're definitely onto something there. That's a classic case of 'over-choking' for the load. A full choke is tight, and that high velocity can cause the shot column to deform more as it exits, leading to a less uniform pattern. For 1300+ fps loads at 40 yards, I'd step down to an improved modified or even a modified choke. Try some Winchester AA Super Sport 1-1/8 oz #8 at 1180 fps through that full choke and see if you get a denser, more consistent center. What's your pattern board look like with the Federal loads?
