Squad etiquette question - how early should I show up for my squad time?
I'm shooting my first NSCA registered shoot next weekend at the state championship. My squad time is 9:30am. I've shot local club shoots before where you just show up and shoot, but this seems more formal. Should I be there an hour early? 30 minutes? Don't want to be that guy holding everyone up.

Good question - shows you're thinking ahead! For NSCA registered shoots, I'd recommend arriving at least 45-60 minutes before your squad time. This gives you time to check in at registration, pay any fees, get your scorecard, and walk the course if you want. You'll also need time to gear up - I see too many folks rushing to load their Beretta A400 or Browning Citori with Federal Top Gun loads at the last minute. Most squads will start checking guns and getting organized about 15 minutes before the scheduled time. What station are you starting on?
