Struggling with consistent lead on crossing targets from station 3

Been shooting about 2 years, mostly sporting clays. I'm having a real tough time getting consistent hits on those right-to-left crossing targets from station 3 at my local club. I shoot a Browning Citori 725 with a Modified choke, using Federal Top Gun 1-1/8oz #8 shot at 1200fps. I've tried sustained lead but keep shooting behind them.

Station 3 crossing targets can be tricky - they're usually moving faster than they look. With a Modified choke and #8 shot, you've got a good setup for that 30-35 yard distance. Try switching to pull-away lead instead of sustained: focus on the target, mount smoothly, and accelerate the muzzle past it as you pull the trigger. That acceleration often solves the 'behind' problem. What's your foot position like on that station?
