Picking a choke for sporting clays - Muller vs. Kicks?

Been shooting a Beretta A400 Xcel for about two years now, mostly sporting clays. I've been using the factory chokes (IC and M) with 1-1/8 oz of #8 shot at 1200 fps. I'm starting to shoot more tournaments and want to tighten up my pattern at longer stations, like those 40+ yard crossing shots. I've heard great things about both Muller and Kicks aftermarket chokes, but can't decide which might be better for my setup. Anyone have experience with both?

Good question - that's a common upgrade path. I've run both Muller U2 and Kicks High Flyer chokes in my Browning Citori for sporting. For your A400 and those longer targets, I'd lean towards the Muller. Their ported chokes (like the U2) seem to give me a slightly denser, more consistent pattern at 40+ yards with target loads compared to the Kicks, which I found fantastic for hunting but a touch more open for clay games. The Muller Improved Modified (about 0.020" constriction) is my go-to for long crossers and true pairs. What specific Muller model are you looking at? The U2 or the non-ported?
