Pilla lens choice for late afternoon sporting clays

Shooting a Browning 725 Sporting with factory chokes (IC/Mod) at my local club. The last station of the day is always in shadow with the sun low behind the trees. My standard Pilla Outlaw Yellow isn't cutting it - losing targets against the dark background. Tried a friend's Decot amber, but it didn't feel right.

Been there with the Pillas. For that exact light - shadow with backlight - I'd grab either a Vermilion or a Purple. The Vermilion (their 6C) boosts contrast against dark backgrounds really well, while the Purple (7C) can help separate grays if it's overcast too. I run the 6C on my Championship set for our club's 'twilight' league. What's the actual light like - is it just shadow, or is there still direct sun glare from somewhere?
