Just got a Beretta A300 - what choke should I start with for trap?
Hey all, brand new shooter here. Just picked up a Beretta A300 Outlander for trap shooting. It came with a set of factory chokes (IC, M, IM, F). I've been shooting at my local club's 16-yard line with 7.5 shot. Which choke should I screw in to start? I'm breaking maybe 15/25 right now.

Welcome to the sport! For the 16-yard line with 7.5s, I'd start with that Improved Cylinder (IC) choke. It gives you a nice, forgiving pattern at that distance - perfect for learning. Once you're consistently hitting 20+ from 16, you might try stepping back to the 20-yard line and switching to the Modified (M) choke. That's a great combo for most recreational trap. What's the velocity on those 7.5s you're using?
