Just got a Beretta A300 - what factory loads should I start with for trap?
Hey all, brand new shooter here. Just picked up a Beretta A300 with the standard Modified choke. I'm heading to the trap range this weekend for my first time and feeling a bit overwhelmed looking at all the ammo options at the store. I see Federal, Winchester AA, Remington STS... no idea where to start. Just want something that'll cycle reliably and break some clays without breaking the bank.

Welcome to the sport! Great choice on the A300 - it'll eat just about anything. For your first few outings, I'd grab a flat of Winchester AA or Remington STS target loads in 1-1/8 oz of #7.5 or #8 shot. They're super consistent, run clean, and are the standard for a reason. Your Modified choke is perfect for 16-yard trap. Don't overthink it yet; focus on your mount and swing. Let us know how it goes - what did you end up grabbing?
