Just got a Beretta A300 - what's a good factory load to start with for trap?
Hey all, brand new shooter here. Just picked up a Beretta A300 with a modified choke to try trap shooting. I've been to the range twice and used some cheap Rio shells, but my patterns seem really inconsistent. I'm shooting from the 16-yard line and just trying to break clays consistently. Should I stick with the Rios or try something else?

Welcome to the sport! For your A300, I'd recommend switching to Federal Top Gun or Winchester AA target loads in 7.5 or 8 shot. They're more consistent than budget shells and pattern really well through modified chokes at 16 yards. Start with 1-1/8 oz loads around 1200 fps - they'll have less recoil while you're learning. What specific Rio shells were you using, and are you shooting singles or doubles?
