Just bought my first shotgun - a used Browning Citori - and the stock feels too long. What should I do?
I'm brand new to sporting clays and picked up a Browning Citori 12ga from a local shop. It's a 30" barrel model. When I mount it, the stock feels like it's poking me in the cheekbone and I'm stretching to reach the trigger. Haven't shot it yet because it just doesn't feel right. My budget is tight after the purchase.

Congrats on the Citori - solid first gun! That cheek slap and stretch means the length of pull (LOP) is too long for you. Easiest fix is to have a gunsmith cut down the stock and add a recoil pad - usually runs $100-150. Before you do that, try shooting it a few times to confirm the fit issue. Some guys add a slip-on pad first as a test. What's your approximate height and arm length? That'll help gauge how much needs to come off.
