Anyone else find Fiocchi Golden Pheasant #6s pattern too tight at 30 yards?

Been using Fiocchi Golden Pheasant 2.75" 1.25oz #6s through my Beretta A400 Xtreme Plus with an Improved Cylinder choke for late-season pheasants. At 25 yards, it's perfect, but at 30-35 yards where I'm seeing more birds now, the pattern looks dense but maybe too small? I'm getting clean kills but also a few birds that seem to get hit hard but run. Wondering if it's the load or my choke choice.

I've seen that with the Golden Pheasant line - great payload but they do tend to hold tight. For 30-35 yards on pheasants, you might try dropping to a Modified choke. That'll open your pattern up just enough for better coverage without losing the needed density for clean kills at that range. Another option, if you want to stick with IC, is to try #5s in the same load. The bigger shot carries energy better at the edge of the pattern. What's your barrel length on that A400?
