Struggling with consistency on long crossers at my local course
I keep dropping the same station at my club - it's a 40-yard left-to-right crosser that's giving me fits. I'm shooting a Browning Citori 725 with an Improved Modified choke, using Federal Top Gun 1-1/8oz #8 shot at 1200fps. I've tried leading it more, but I'm either way behind or shooting over the top. Any tips for reading that specific distance and angle?

That's a tough bird for sure - 40-yard crossers test everything. With that IM choke and #8s, you've got the right setup, but try focusing on your foot position first. For left-to-right, open your stance more toward the trap house so your swing feels more natural. Instead of thinking about lead, watch the target's line and maintain your swing speed through the shot. I've found that most misses on those come from stopping the gun. What's your footwork look like on that station?
