Struggling with consistency on handicap yardage - any tips?
I've been shooting American Trap for about 2 years and just moved back to the 23-yard line. I'm using a Browning Citori with a Modified choke, shooting 1-1/8 oz of #8 shot at 1200 fps. Some days I crush them, other days I feel like I'm just missing behind. I've tried focusing on my foot position and keeping my head down, but the inconsistency is frustrating.

That 23-yard line is a real hump for a lot of shooters - you're not alone. First, check your lead: at that distance with #8s, you might need a solid 3-4 feet of sustained lead rather than trying to pull away. Also, consider tightening up to a Full choke if your pattern is getting thin. One thing that helped me was focusing on the target's flight line rather than the bird itself - try watching how it leaves the house and commit to that line. What's your follow-through like after the shot?
