Just started shooting American Trap - how do I know what choke to use?
I'm brand new to trap shooting and just got a used Browning Citori 12 gauge. I've been shooting from the 16-yard line with the modified choke it came with, using Federal Top Gun 1-1/8oz #7.5 loads. I'm breaking maybe 15/25 on a good day and wondering if switching chokes would help my pattern.

Welcome to the sport! For 16-yard trap, modified is actually a great starting point - that's what most of us use at that distance. Your pattern should be dense enough to break targets consistently. Before swapping chokes, I'd focus on your mount and follow-through. Are you seeing the target clearly before you shoot, or rushing it? Try keeping both eyes open if you aren't already. What's your gun fit like - does it come up to your cheek naturally?
