Just started American Skeet - where should I be looking for the target at Station 4?
Hey all, new shooter here. I'm really struggling with the high house target from Station 4 in American Skeet. I keep missing behind it. I'm using a Beretta A300 with a Skeet choke, shooting 1 oz of #9 shot at 1200 fps. I'm looking at the house window, but by the time I mount and shoot, I feel rushed.

Welcome! Station 4 high house is a classic spot for that problem. Instead of staring at the window, try focusing your eyes about halfway between the window and the center stake. That's your 'hold point.' When you call for the bird, your gun should already be mounted and you're just looking at that spot. The target will appear and you can pick it up immediately without that panicked swing. What's your gun mount like - are you bringing it up from a low ready, or is it already at your shoulder?
