Germany's oldest recorded gun maker, producing shotguns and rifles in Suhl for two centuries before relocating to Eckernförde and later Isny.
History
Founded in 1751 by Lorenz Sauer in Suhl, duchy of Saxe-Hildburghausen. Johann Paul Sauer and son Lorenz created the J.P. Sauer & Sohn trademark in 1840. Made first shotgun 1893. Relocated to Eckernförde in 1951 after WWII. Now part of Lüke and Ortmeier Gruppe with Blaser and Mauser in Isny facility (2013).
