Marlin Firearms
Marlin Firearms Co.
Historic American manufacturer famous for lever-action rifles, now owned by Sturm, Ruger & Co. and producing the innovative 1895-410 lever-action shotgun.
History
Founded in 1872 by John Mahlon Marlin in New Haven, Connecticut, Marlin Firearms became famous for its lever-action rifles that competed directly with Winchester. Marlin introduced pump-action shotguns in 1898, producing various models until 1933. While primarily known for lever-action rifles like the Model 336 and 1895, Marlin also produced innovative shotgun designs. After ownership changes through Remington (2007) and bankruptcy, Sturm, Ruger & Co. acquired Marlin in 2020 and resumed production. In 2021, Ruger introduced the Marlin 1895-410 lever-action shotgun.
