History
Founded in 1967 in Urbino, Italy, Benelli Armi SpA revolutionized shotgun design with its inertia-driven operating system. The company gained worldwide fame with the Super Black Eagle in 1991, which became the dominant waterfowl shotgun. Benelli's M4 was adopted by the U.S. Marine Corps as the M1014. Known for ultra-reliable semi-automatic shotguns that function in the harshest conditions, Benelli is now part of the Beretta Holding Group but maintains independent operations and design philosophy.
