Established in 1901 in Livorno, Italy as Societa Franco Italiana Esplosivo Cheddite, Cheddite is a French-Italian company specializing in ammunition components. In 1980, Cheddite bought the French Gevelot factory, laying the foundation for its French affiliate, Cheddite France. The company now operates facilities in both Livorno, Italy and Bourg-lès-Valence, France. Cheddite specializes in production of shells, primers, and other components with over 1.2 billion primers and 1 billion cases produced per year. The company supplies components to ammunition manufacturers worldwide and also produces finished ammunition. Cheddite hulls and primers are highly regarded by reloaders for consistent performance and availability in multiple gauges and lengths.
