History

Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Company was founded in 1975 by Anthony 'Tony' Galazan in New Britain, Connecticut. As a young man, Galazan was visited by the ATF due to the high volume of firearm parts he was producing; they suggested he apply for a manufacturing license, marking the official beginning of the company. His first commercial product was a choke and barrel gauge, still available today. By 1989, Tony was manufacturing virtually every shotgun component. In 1990 he built his first complete gun - a sidelock over/under based on his favorite Boss & Co. In 1995, CSMC purchased the Winchester Custom Shop for the Model 21. The 2006 release of the RBL (Round Body Boxlock) brought high-quality American doubles to a wider audience. Now in its third location with over 120,000 square feet and about 85 workers producing some 2,000 guns per year, CSMC is the only manufacturer in the USA of high-quality double barrel shotguns. Galazan combines highly skilled hand craftsmanship with CNC machinery and innovative production techniques, with fanatical quality control including extensive range testing of every single gun.
